One of the HARDEST things when it comes to starting your own business is the fear to fail. It takes a lot of commitment and HARD WORK to follow through with your goal.
Reasons to Become a Beautician
For me, I was looking for a job where I can have my own, flexible schedule. Something that I can do from home or at other locations. I was looking for a job where I can be my OWN BOSS, control how many hours I wanted to work, make my own money and my own decisions. After so much hard work, I finally did it ! I LOVE relying on MYSELF for income. I love being able to take time off for family, meet one on one with clients at a flexible time and track my own earnings. Are you ready to become a #bossbabe?
Becoming a business owner is a lot harder then it sounds. It’s tough hearing peers doubt you. That’s why I absolutely love the idea of women supporting women.

As society changes, so does supply and demand; societal change creates a
demand for services that increase femininity. Today, the beauty industry
capitalises on cosmetic appearance, medical or psychological concerns.
Eyelash Anatomy
Long lashes are a beauty trend that draws attention to the eyes. Like they say, beauty is in the “eye” of the beholder. Long lashes create a wakeful look. Eyelash extensions are designed to extend the length, curl and fullness of natural eyelashes. Lash extensions are attached to the natural eyelash with a specially formulated lash extension adhesive. Lash extensions are available in different lengths, widths and curls, as well as different colours. Classic lash extensions come in both standard (round) or flat (ellipse) styles. For volume lashes there are volume fans or premade volume clusters. Other options for fuller lashes include false strip lashes or temporary volume clusters. We provide a variety of lash extension training and lash services.

Skin Anatomy
Skin is exposed to harsh environmental elements and other damaging agents that can make it dry, dull, and worn out. The sun’s UV rays, pollution, unhealthy sleeping, work habits, food, products used and slow collagen production take a toll on skin. Fine lines, blemishes and dark spots can be hidden with the right makeup. However, makeup is only a cover and not a solution to skin problems. Cosmetics is a multi-billion-dollar industry. A "cosmetic" is any substance used to clean, improve or change the complexion, skin, hair, nails or teeth (Canada, 2018). Understanding the compounds of makeup, history of makeup, application tips, strategies and a thorough consultation is necessary for the success of your small business.
Makeup Artist Training Manual
NAE’s Makeup Artist Training Manual focuses on cosmetic makeup application for the purpose of glam, special events or everyday makeup. It will go into detail on health and safety, business tips, ethics, makeup tool kit, skin anatomy, application, practice questions, document guides and key terms.

Teeth Whitening Training Course Online or In Class Now Open | Weekly St. Catharines Training | Ontario Wide Workshops $700
Teeth whitening is one of the most sought-after cosmetic treatments designed to improve the appearance of the smile by brightening and lightening the natural color of the teeth. This treatment helps reduce stains and discoloration caused by factors such as coffee, tea, wine, smoking, aging, medications, and everyday lifestyle habits.
There are a variety of teeth whitening methods available, including professional in-clinic treatments and at-home whitening products. Professional whitening procedures commonly use whitening agents such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide to safely penetrate the enamel and break down stains. Many professional services also utilize advanced technology, including LED lighting systems, to enhance and accelerate whitening results.
While over-the-counter whitening products such as toothpaste, strips, and gels can help maintain brightness, professional treatments generally provide faster, safer, and more noticeable results. Because every client’s dental health and sensitivity level is different, it is important to assess suitability before treatment and recommend professional dental care when necessary.
With proper maintenance and oral hygiene, teeth whitening can dramatically enhance a client’s smile while improving confidence and self-esteem.

Learn More About Teeth Whitening
Natural tooth color ranges from light grey to yellow tones, and discoloration can occur for a variety of reasons. Teeth stains are generally classified into two categories:
Extrinsic stains – surface stains caused by food, beverages, smoking, and lifestyle habits
Intrinsic stains – discoloration originating from within the tooth due to aging, medications, illness, trauma, or infection
Clients experiencing intrinsic discoloration may require consultation with a licensed dental professional before whitening treatments are performed.
Everyday habits such as drinking coffee, tea, or red wine, along with tobacco use and foods containing artificial dyes, can contribute to external staining. Additionally, skin tone and lighting can influence how white teeth appear visually.
Categories of Teeth Whitening Methods
There are three primary categories of whitening treatments:
Professional whitening treatments performed by a dentist
Professional take-home whitening systems distributed by a dentist
Over-the-counter or non-dental whitening products used independently at home

Hair removal has been around for centuries. Ancient Rome used hot tar and razor-sharp shells as a hair removal method. Today, hair removal is a medical, cosmetic or psychological concern. Most clients have two motivations for hair removal: to feel feminine or for social norm (Basow & Braman, 1998). Strong feminist women and self identified lesbians undergo hair removal less then heterosexual women (Basow & Braman, 1998). Sugaring has been used in Egyptian times, middle eastern culture, Northern Africa, Greece middle east, Persians.
A Glimpse into The History of the Beauty Industry
Hairlessness is a norm served in culture. Between 1915- 1945, there has been a dramatic change in women roles. In 1915 there were not many ads for hair removal or removal products. This is because the body was not visible because of clothing styles. Hair on places other than the head was considered unnecessary and ugly. In 1920, ads were focused on changing the human body. Mouthwash, deodorant, tooth products and sanitary napkins were new products. Learn more in your training course!
